Nac Pfi Life Tec Visits

Thanks Life Tec, and Anne Livingstone for a great day. Great to see Maggie from the Sandgate Sandbags and the nutritionistas, Claire and Laura.  Great turn out by the NAC PFI group.  I visited, too, but all by myself. The Life Tec centre is very impressive.  It dominates the skyline like a big cathedral. Jean took me around and I was able to ask Katie, the OT, questions on behalf of my dad.

I liked the kitchen, the large print screen, the office gear, the lounge chair. My favourite thing was the handle for the vacuum cleaner.  It allows a person to stand up straighter so its easier on the wrist and on the back.

Life Tec's great skyline - within the shopping complex and set against the hills of Newmarket

Inclusive, funky signage.

My favourite things - the kettle and

the gardening gear, I would say that.

who would have thought a toilet would be so interesting? -  At Life Tec, Yes.

I love this kitchen, so many smart ideas

  1. Hi Ann, I enjoyed the visit to the Lifetec Centre last week. Margret's husband from the Centre took me over. It was surprising to see how much was there and is good to know there are so many items available for making it easier for people with whatever needs they have. I was interested in information on the good grip hand held jar opener, the Miracle Grip Slip resistant mat and couldn't decide at first which magnifying glass to get and just chose the Eschenbach Aspherical Magnifyer. They sent the information sheets about them the next day. Angela from Lifetec brought me home after. Someone said the mat could be bought in a discount shop. My relative Di said a magnifying glass could be bought there also but one would wonder first if the quality is as good at the discount shop as the one they have. Also at Toombul on Monday after the bus trip I saw advertising about the NBN in the Telstra shop and decided to ask about when it would come on in my street. The lady looked on the computer, typed in my street address and gave me the date to be at the end of October. She gave me a booklet about it with the date on the front, I put in the pink bag to bring tomorrow. She offered to phone me when the time comes. She said it will be done street by street etc. We heard that they will let everyone know when it is about to come on. All for now from Carol.

  2. Thanks Carol, Great comment. and very interesting info about the NBN. I hope it comes to Maleny soon.
My daughter just got connected at West End. She doesn't even have a TV yet, but she will have the mega internet and will be able to watch everything with her computer.
